Brad Dixon has spent nearly his entire adult life in the hospitality industry.  Several years ago, he realized his real passion was wine and he began to pursue it with enthusiasm.  Prior to working at Bern’s, Brad was the Wine & Spirits Director at Island Way Grill in Clearwater, Florida, where, due to his influence, the restaurant garnered their first Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for their wine list.  

Brad began his Bern’s career in 2003 and he along with two other sommeliers lead Bern’s team of wine stewards as they oversee one of the largest wine collections in the world with 6,500 different selections and more than 500,000 bottles in inventory.  

During the evening, Brad consults with Bern’s guests as they pour over the 182-page list.  He also shares responsibility for inventory, cataloging and computerizing the wine list and keeping it updated.  Brad and the other sommeliers take inventory and wine stewards ensure that the working cellar is restocked inside the restaurant.   


Brad continues his education with frequent wine buying trips to many of the world’s fine wine producing regions including Australia, Europe and America.  His passion is old wines and continuously studies many of the old wines and wineries to better understand and educate guests about Bern’s vast collection. He also teaches wine classes at Bern’s Fine Wines & Spirits, is available to speak to various groups and is always involved with Bern’s Winefest seminars.
