  • How do I make reservations at Bern's?
We recommend making reservations well in advance of your visit and accept reservations on a rolling 60 day availability for booking.  You can call reservations directly at 813.251.2421 or book them online under “make a reservation”. If you make online reservations, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive any confirmation, please call the Steak House. If your requested date or time is not available, you are welcome to check back periodically either online under the “make a reservation” tab or by phone, however due to the volume of requests, we do not have a call back/waiting list.

If you have any changes to an existing reservation, please call the restaurant at 813-251-2421 for assistance.  Unfortunately due to the volume of emails, we are unable to assist with reservation requests and changes at our contact email.

*Please remember we have a strict business-casual to semi-formal dress code policy.

In an effort to accommodate as many of our valued customers as possible, please be aware that…

    • We require a credit card to secure all reservations and will charge a $25 per person cancellation fee to any guest canceling within 24-hours of their scheduled reservation or any guest who does not show up for their scheduled reservation. With the exception of major holidays, a portion of this cancellation fee will be donated to the Hillsborough County Public Schools Culinary Arts Program.
    •  In some cases, a photo ID may be required upon check-in to confirm the validity of the person utilizing a reservation.
    • Guests may be suspended from our reservation system for up to one year and/or have their reservation(s) canceled for the following reasons:
    • Multiple cancellations within a 60-day period.
    • Multiple booked reservations within a 60-day booking window beyond normal booking patterns.
    • Multiple no-shows for scheduled reservations.

Bern’s Steak House has been in existence for more than 65 years because of our dedication to exceptional quality and service. We will continue to do our best to accommodate as many reservations as operationally possible without compromising our standard of excellence. Thank you for your continued support.

*Florida’s Restaurant Reservation Anti-Piracy Act prohibits third-party platforms from selling reservations without the agreement with restaurants.  Bern’s has not entered into an agreement and is not affiliated with any third-party companies representing available reservations for sale at our restaurant. The only way to book a reservation to dine with us is through our website or by calling Bern’s Steak House directly.

    Reservations are non-transferrable.

  • What is the dress code at Bern's Steak House?
The appropriate attire for the main dining rooms at Bern’s Steak House is business casual to semi-formal.  We ask that no t-shirts, athletic tennis shoes, flip-flops, ball caps, shorts, or torn or faded jeans or torn or faded pants of any material be worn. If any of these items are worn to Bern’s, you may be seated in our lounge area instead of one of the dining rooms. Jackets and ties are encouraged, but not officially required.  It is quite common to see formal wear since we are fortunate to be visited often for special occasion meals. Concessions may be made for children 12 and under, as well as for medical reasons. Please note that our dress code is more relaxed in our lounge area and the Harry Waugh Dessert Room.
  • What is the service charge on my bill?
A 12% service charge will be added to your dinner check to be given to your service team, regardless of your party size.  Additional gratuity for exceptional service may be added at your discretion.  An 18% service charge is automatically applied to parties of 10 or more in our Harry Waugh Dessert Room.
  • Can I request a favorite server?
All Bern’s servers are highly trained and very competent, however if you have a favorite, please make your request for this server when you make your reservation by phone. We will note it in your reservation and do our best to seat you at a table in their section. However, we cannot honor all requests due to scheduling and volume in the restaurant.
  • Can I make multiple reservations and request to be seated together?
Unfortunately, if you book multiple reservations, we are unable to guarantee you will be seated together, or in the same dining room, due to the configuration of our rooms.  Any groups totaling 9 and above can be booked through our group dining department in order to ensure you are seated together.  If booked separately, please expect to be seated in different areas of the restaurant.
  • Are pictures/video allowed?
Only still photos are permitted while dining at Bern’s. Videos are not allowed in the dining rooms or any portion of the tour.
  • What can be done for special occasions?
Bern’s can put a candle in the dessert of the person celebrating.  Please make sure to notate the occasion when making your reservation or let your server know the occasion the evening you dine with us.
  • What is the Corkage Fee?
$75 per 750ml bottle as long as it is not a wine we have represented on our wine list.   We do not allow any wines to be brought in that we have on our list.
  • Can I bring in my own cake or special dessert?
Due to the size of our dessert list and our ability to provide custom cakes and desserts with advanced notice, we request that you do not bring in your own desserts.
All outside items will incur a $10 per person plating fee.
  • Can I bring my child to eat at Bern's?
Yes, well-behaved children and babies are allowed to dine at Bern’s Steak House.  They must be included in the guest count when booking your party.  Please keep in mind that it is a longer dining experience, and if the child/baby does get loud, you may be asked to take them out of the dining room until they have calmed.  Unfortunately, we cannot allow strollers in the dining room.
