How do I make reservations at Bern's?
We recommend making reservations well in advance of your visit and we accept reservations only for the current month and the subsequent two months. You can call reservations directly at 813.251.2421 or book them online. If you make online reservations, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive any confirmation, please call the Steak House. If your requested date or time is not available, you are welcome to check back periodically either online or by phone, however due to the volume of requests, we do not have a call back/waiting list. *Please remember we have a strict business-casual to semi-formal dress code policy.
Hours of Operation
Bern’s Steak House is open from 5 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Bern’s is closed on Christmas Day and Labor Day. Other major holiday hours vary; please call Bern’s for more information. Bern’s business office is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Gift certificates may be purchased securely online.
What is the dress code at Bern's Steak House?
The appropriate attire at Bern’s Steak House is business casual to semi-formal. We ask that no t-shirts, tennis shoes, flip-flops, shorts, or torn or faded blue jeans be worn. If any of these items are worn to Bern’s, you may be seated in our lounge area instead of one of the dining rooms. Jackets and ties are encouraged, but not officially required. It is quite common to see formal wear since we are fortunate to be visited often for special occasion meals.
What is the service charge on my bill?
A 12% service charge will be added to your dinner check to be given to your waiter in lieu of salary, regardless of your party size. The option of additional gratuity for fine service, of course, is yours. GROUP DINING: A 21% service charge will be added to any contracted parties per your signed agreement with our group sales department to be distributed to your waiter and group sales coordinator.
Can I request a favorite waiter?
All Bern’s waiters are highly trained and very competent servers, however if you have a favorite, please make your request for this waiter when you make your reservation by phone. We will note it in your reservation and do our best to seat you at a table in their section. However, we cannot honor all requests due to scheduling and volume in the restaurant.
Are pictures/video allowed?
Only still photos are permitted while dining at Bern’s. Videos are not allowed in the dining rooms or any portion of the tour.
What can be done for special occasions?
Bern’s can put a candle in the dessert of the person celebrating while in the Harry Waugh Dessert Room. Please make sure to notate the occasion when making your reservation or let your dessert room server know the occasion the evening you dine with us. We are now offering a new and exclusive retail gift opportunity to enhance your special occasions: BERN’S BLACK BOX. This unique wine/spirit related gift box can be presented in the Harry Waugh Dessert Room to be taken home by the recipient (please note, the wine/spirit cannot be consumed at the restaurant, it is intended to be a take-away gift.) Custom box options are available for presentation seven days a week, but must be ordered with a minimum of 72 hours notice for a more plentiful selection of products (including custom flowers, accessories, a signed Bern’s Book, signed bottles, etc.). Monday – Friday: There are several prepared concierge curated boxes that are available, as long as the order is in by 3:00PM the night of the reservation, based on availability. A new way to make your celebration extra memorable! There is a minimum order requirement of $57.00.
