Alexander Fetter

Sommelier

Alexander Fetter grew up in Tampa, Florida. At his family’s dinner table, conversations often turned to Bern’s Steak House, often spoken of as a pioneer of fine dining. What began as admiration soon became a personal goal: to one day be part of that legacy.

His journey into wine began in 2015 in Miami’s vibrant restaurant scene and continued in California, where he trained at the International Culinary Center under Master Sommelier Dennis Kelly. Together, they helped open Protégé in Palo Alto, a restaurant that earned a Michelin star in its first year.

Alexander continued to build his expertise at top establishments including Hakkasan in San Francisco, Cote Korean Steakhouse under Wine Director Victoria James, the two Michelin-starred L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Miami, and the Fontainebleau Hotel, where he led wine education across its luxury dining venues. These experiences deepened his mastery of wine pairing, hospitality leadership, and the creation of memorable dining experiences.

In 2025, Alexander returned home to Tampa to join Bern’s Steak House, fulfilling the dream that first took shape years earlier at his family’s table. He now brings his passion for wine and hospitality to the community that inspired his journey.
